Inspiring Getaway

Inspiring Getaway

When Jon and I go away, we look for ways to have fun doing the physical activities we both enjoy, like hiking, biking, antiquing, and beach time. Our most recent trip delivered on all of the above! And, we were able to attend two weddings that took us from the mountains to the coast of North Carolina.

I definitely gained inspiration from my time in Pisgah National Forest. The mountain trails were lush, and my heart was happy with the abundance of creeks and waterfalls. I connected with my inner child while in those woods!

Mantiques, a great spot on Brevard's Main Street, had me swooning over the woven cotton blankets from Maine. I was about to drop some cash for a blanket I did not need. And that encounter stood to fortify my love of textiles. They will always sneak an appearance into my home décor line!

After a couple of days' worth of exploring Brevard and Asheville, we headed to Wilmington where we would join family and friends for Chandler and Kelsey's wedding. As soon as I walked onto the grounds of Wrightsville Manor, I knew we were going to enjoy a special day. The entire design spoke an intentional simplicity, and Kelsey's wedding décor selections continued the effortless elegance that the venue offers. Goodness, the natural backdrop photo ops were insane, and we gathered everyone for photo shoots!

I came home with a design inspiration that will possibly enhance a future wedding's décor. I'm unveiling my original piece at tomorrow's Old Beach Art and Eco Market. Let's see who decides they can't go home without it!
