How About That Gable Feature?

I’m surprised the accent piece made it in one piece until this week’s installation. We stored it in the garage for several months, and I had plenty of opportunity to hit it while parking! But now she is hung!

Jordan wanted to get into the decorating-before-you-move-in-action and chose this piece as her first personal touch to her bedroom. We love how special it is because of the artist who painted it! When I met Sandra Cowley thirty years ago I had no idea she would bring so much inspiration to our interior design.IMG_0055

Speaking of decor, what am I to do with this battered finial? It’s obvious faux cement is not intended for outdoor use. Just for fun, I might give it the Annie Sloan treatment and try to recreate the dark edging. It’s always an easy project in my mind… The execution gets me every time. But I won’t be discouraged; I think I can accomplish some measure of improvement. I’ll update y’all, whether it’s good or bad.
