Modern Farmhouse New Build

This is the new build that is going on next door to our current address! We hope to finish everything up and move in late spring! Like so many under the spell of Chip and Joanna Gaines, Jon and I are enchanted by the modern farmhouse design. If you could have been present during all of our initial planning and research, you would have heard a relentless request for black windows. And board and batten siding. Oh, and a metal roof.

Well, as you can see, a girl may make her ideal building materials known, but that doesn’t mean they will all be delivered. The metal roof item on the wish list turned into an accent metal roof over the front porch.

I’m looking forward to seeing the front finished in board and batten siding and the architectural feature for the gable installed.

The covered back porch is one of my favorite features on a Beamer built home. I’m always ready to curl up and read on the sofa in the cool of the morning. Here I will watch a large vegetable garden grow and produce. All three of Jordan Meadow’s lots showcase garden views from the backyard. Occasionally an egret flies overhead as it makes it way to the river nearby.

I think the upstairs exterior wall begs for an oversized steel star accent. What do you say?

Although the back porch overlooks the true backyard and garden, this small patch of dirt at the side will house a pool. We purposefully positioned the detached garage forward in order to provide a private niche for swimming. One of my greatest expectations is the landscaper’s design for this area. I’m envisioning a clean look and the crispness of green contrasting against white.

I hope that you will come along for this project’s development! Tomorrow I’m visiting a granite yard to choose some slabs for the kitchen. I know what I’m looking for, so I pray the selection process is easy.

So wonderful! There appears to be plenty of room for me and Dean, we are pretty quiet. ; )
