The Joy of Hosting
I was thankful to learn that I would be hosting two of the eight members of a worship band that is traveling for the summer. Chosen, a worship team from the University of Valley Forge came to the Virginia Peninsula to lead worship for our Sunday service at Warwick Church. These students are leaders in every sense of the word! What an honor to spend time with the ladies, Karly and Joanna, while they stay in our home for a few nights.
Sound check required an early departure from the house Sunday morning, so I planned in advance and made some yummy breakfast items on Saturday afternoon. I wish I could say that I waited until the morning to enjoy the blueberry and lemon scones, but I can’t because I didn’t. Who can resist a warm scone fresh out of the oven? Not this girl!
As the time with our guests quickly comes to an end, I know that my life is richer for having shared our home with them. When they return later this afternoon from their day at the beach, we’ll all convene at our friends’ home and enjoy one last meal. I have a feeling that the team’s departure for Ocean City tomorrow will require scones on the go!
